The
National Commission for Museums and Monuments, of the government of the country of Nigeria,
wants Benin Bronzes returned from the
Museum of Fine Art, Boston to their homeland. The British Museum has the
Elgin Marbles and a number of Benin Bronzes (actually they're brass, but let's not quibble) as booty from the
Punitive Expedition of 1897.
